CAKE DAY.
AN APPEAL TO FOXTON MOTHERS AND SISTERS.
Tbe womenfolk of Foxton are invited to assist in a cake day for the men in the Rangiotu camp this week. Contributions will be received at the Council Chambers on Friday afternoon. Foxton treated the preceding contingent rery liberally in this respect, and it is only fitting that the men now in camp should be similarly treated. The Foxton women can hold their own in cake making with any of their sisters in Australasia, and we know they will cheefully respond to this call. The soldierboys, when they leave home for camp, miss a slice of “mother’s cake.” It you want to know how much, just ask one. It would be ! grand to think that Foxton provided each soldier with one “hunk” of good slab cake as a parting gift. We appeal, on behalf or the Radies’ Guild, to each mother and sister to make a cake, and send it along to the Council Chambers for some mother’s boy and some sister s brother. The happiness these gifts confer on the soldiers cannot be overestimated. We know Foxton mothers and sisters will make a splendid response to this appeal
