In connection with the Anii-Concrip-tiou Conference, the Times and Preso this morning print fuels concerning the appointment of a delegate Horn the local Grocers’ Union to oppose consciiption. Thu delegate was appointed at a meeting at which 2U were present out of a membership of UU, no notice being given. The majority of the meniheis are furiously indignant. They have been blocked by technicalities Irom rescinding the appointment, it is staled, and not denied by the wirepullers responsible, that the union as ■ whole is hostile to the conference.
The Press and Times both print editorials on the subject, pointing out that as ' the case is doubtless typical, the eoniorenco cannot in any sense he representative of unionism, and its resolutions may he ignored by the Government and the mihlie.
