The Manawatu Herald. Saturday, January 15, 1916. CHAPLAIN-CAPTAIN DORE HONOURED.
Chaplain-Captain Rev. Father Dore’s gallant services with the forces at Gallipoli have been deservedly recognised and he is to be decorated with the military cross — an honour which ranks next to the V.C. It is unnecessary to recapitulate his gallant services rendered under fire to the sick and suffering, details of which have appeared in these columns, but we join with Captain-Chaplain Dore’s Foxton parishioners and friends in congratulating him on the honour so deservedly bestowed. Also our warmest congratulations to Captain Daniells, son of Mr and Mrs Percy Daniells, of Foxton, who also received a similar honour. Captain Daniells is attached to the artillery.
