FULLER’S PICTURES.
The initial screening of the first episode of “The Million Dollar Mystery” was responsible for , a full house at Fuller’s last night, and there is no doubt that the popularity of this magnificient serial is assured. The supporting items were of an exceptionally high standard and included a film of more than ordinary interest in, “The Floating Peril,” depicting the modern submarine mines and showing the ingenuity of the inventors; “Sport of Circumstances,” a splendid Edison comedy provides much merriment; “The Pathe Gazette” ; “Saints and Sinners,” drama; “Question of Clothes,” comedy ; and a roaring Keystone, “For Better—But Worse,” concludes a splendid programmewhich will be repeated to-night. FRIDAY & SATURDAY.
Another star item will be included in the week-end programme at Fuller’s Pictures, viz., “Whom the Gods Would Destroy.” The story turns upon a partnership dispute between James Rice and John Strong. Strong requires a sum of money which Rice refuses to give. The body of Rice is afterwards found, and it is supposed that he committed suicide. The chemist who supplied the poison to John Strong tries to obtain' money from him. and the latter shoots the chemist. Senorita Laska Ayon, a wealthy Brazilian who was about to marry James Rice, is told that Strong murdered her sweetheart, and she sets out to try and entrap Strong into a confession. She participates in his revels, and fools him to the top of his bent, then springs a mine upon him which almost paralyses him with fear. The rest of the story is highly intense, while the end is a dramatic climax. The supporting items are of the usual hieh standard. s
