DECEMBER WORKING
Gas manafactured as per station meter 372,50011., in holder on December Ist 5000 ft., total 377,500 ft, Gas used by consumers (lighting) 14,000 ft,, (cooking and heating) 90,500 ft., (power) 83,000 ft., used in street lamps 22,000 ft.. used at works 22,500 ft., in holder on January xst 4,000 ft. leaving 15,500 ft. (representing 4 per cent, ol the output) unaccounted for. Thirty-one tons five cwt. of coal was carbonised, yielding 11,900 ft. per ton. The earnings totalled 6s id, made up as follows: —gas sales (lighting) 13s Sd, (heat and power ,£43 is 7d, meter rent 163. coke sales ,£l4, tar sales ,£55 7s 6d, weighing £1 8s 6d, fitting account .£SO 7s 6d, services £1 15s 6d labour fittings £2, miscellaneous £3 15s lod. The expenditure was as under : —coal ,£4O 12s 6d, salaries and wages £36 17s, labour(services) ,£4 4s 6d, (fittings) £6 6s, pipes (services) £27 14s 2d, (mains) 6s, fittings £7 23 ud, meters ,£64 7s 6d, tools 2S 3d, plant £2 3s gd, casks 12s, working expenses £2l 5s Bd, interest and sinking fund £59 ns Bd, making a total of £276 3s nd.
