"'e regret to iecord the death, which occurred suddenly-at Ash- ■ hurst yesterday, - of Mr Charles Bauckham, one of the oldest and most respected residents of that town. The late Mr Bauckhatq’s death came as a great shock to his; family- and friends as it was quite unexpected, he enjoyed good health right, up to ,the last. The cause of death was hearc , failure, the deceased complaining of a pain in the chest and passed . away very shortly afterwards.;'The . late Mr Bauckham arrived in New - Zealand 36 years.ago' In the' ship Rakaia. He came oh, from Wei" lington to ,ia the old Stormblrd and immediately went on to Asbhurst where he resided ever since. He was 1 werf* V known in this district and other parts of New; Zealand He, leaves • a widow, three -sons, William (Foxton), Arthur (Mat Auku) and Charles (Wellington), and six daughters, Miss Baucsham (Wellington). Miss Kaffi. (Ashhuist), Mrs OV Hart (Tiritea), Mrs E. Hayward (Ash'- ; hurst), Mrs T. Rose (Fojtcu), - Mrs Whitten (Foxton).-andi Mrs Ovenden (Palmerston Ndrtb'V to mourn their loss.
