PICNIC AND SPORTS.

NEW YEAR’S DAY. The Friendly Societies of Palmerston North will hold their annual picnic and sports gathering at Victoria Park, Foxton, on New Year’s Day. This year they have combined with the Palmerston North Cycling and Athletic Club, and have decided to give the whole of the profits to the Sick and Wounded Soldiers’ Fund. A good programme of running and cycling events has been arranged, and there will also be a free distribution of toys for the children. Refreshments may be obtained on the grounds and hot water and milk will be supplied free of charge. The price of admission is one shilling.
