ENTERTAINMENTS.

FULLER’S PICTURES. “THE DARE DEVIL CIRCUS QUEEN.” A picture of an extremely stirring and sensational nature entitled, “The Dare Devil Circus Queen,” takes pride of place at the Town Hall to-morrow night. Fred Dolan, a thief, and his accomplice, Helen Dolan, steal some very valuable jewellery and vanish, leaving no trace behind them. They become connected with a circus, Fred disguises as an Indian fakir and she as his assistant, and are only awaiting an opportunity to get clear away. In the meantime Romani, the owner ot the circus, has fallen under the spell of Helen Dolan, and is spending the money that should be paying the debts of the circus. His wife knows this, and loves him in spite of all. Seeing that he will soon be a bankrupt, she, in order to obtain a sensational amount of money, undertakes to ride her horse on a big wheel. While the dangerous ride is in progress Helen Dolan interferes with the mechanism and attacks the engineer in order that Madame Romani will fall the tremendous height and kill herself. A detective who has been endeavouring to trace the thieves becomes interested. Just what happens from this on is probably the most thrilling set of adventures ever screened by the Eclair Company. Other films of interest are : “Within the German Tines,” interest; “The Sisters,” drama ; “The Trianons,” scenic; “Wished on Mabel,” Keystone comic; and “The Pathe Gazette/'

“MOTHER GOOSE” PANTO MIME.

Pretty girls, the latest songs and dances, good comedy, excellent speciality turns, beautiful scenery and elaborate costumes all go to make up Stanley McKay and Co.’s production of “Mother Goose,” to be presented to local theatre-goers in the Town Hall on Thursday next. Since last produced some few years back in New Zealand, with Mr Harry Phydora and the late Harry Shine filling the important comedy roles, the extravaganza has been brought right up-to-date. The present production scintillates with quaint humour and original patter, and nothing has been left undone in the endeavour to place before the public just the form of amusement they are looking for. The caste has been specially selected, and is headed by Mr James Gerald and Mr Will Rayner, two excellent comedians, whose humour is infectious. The principal boy and girl are in the capable hands of Miss Essie Jeoniugs and Miss Rosie Coleman, both well-kuowu Australian performers. Others prominent in a lengthy caste are Mr Richard Dunbar, Mr Will Speed, Miss Caremen Coleman, Miss Rubee Raymond and Miss Annie Ifillilund. These artists are supported by a full ballet, chorus and orchestra. A fine speciality is provided by Mr Will Speed, who as the Tramp Cyclist, does some wonderful tumbling and acrobatic bicycle riding. His turn in Auckland was one of the features of the pantomime. The box plan of “Mother Goose” is at Teviotdale’s, where seats may be reserved without extra change.
