FULLER’S PICTURES. The management announce an exceptionally fine programme for Saturday alternoou and evening, featuring two star features. The Kalem Company present a stirring drama of mystery, love and adventure, in two stirring parts, “The Figure in Black.” Mrs duett is the possessor of many valuable gems, and despite the warning of the house detective, decides to keep them in her room. Daring the night a mysterious figure iu black enters her apartment, and steals the gems, leaving Mrs Cluett bound and gagged. The following day a black cloak of a peculiar pattern is found iu the maid’s room. Mrs Cluett will not believe the maid has stolen the jewels, and decides to investigate hersdl. The result is startling and makes a very interesting play. There is also the “Flying A” Company’s big success in two parts, “The Heart ot Flame.” This is the story of a wonderful violinist, who had all the technique, but who lacked the divine spirit which goes to make the great artist. He goes to the mountains and falls in love with a child of nature, which causes many dramatic happenings, but creates the soul that was needed. The programme also includes; “Topical Budget No. 200” ; “The Cause of it All,” a happy Kalem comedy ; “Mabel and Fatty at the Fair,” an unusually pleasaut-Key-stoue specially ; “Noodle’s Return,” a laughable farce comedy.
“MOTHER GOOSE” PANTOMIME. “Mother Goose,” probably the funniest pantomime ever staged in Australasia, is to be presented by Mr George Stephenson at the Town Hall, Foxton, on Thursday next, December 2nd. The company, Stanley McKay and Co.’s, was formed iu Australia some eighteen months ago, and has since been appearing with great success in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. Quite recently it completed a wonderfully successful season of three weeks in the Auckland Opera House, where the press was loud in its praise ot both performers and productions. “Mother Goose” will be well re membered by theatregoers of a few years back as the pantomime that holds the record for lengthy runs and popularity iu all the large cities of Australasia. Tire present version has been brought right up to date, new songs, new dances, and new specialities having been introduced. For the New Zealand lour entirely new scenery has been painted by leading Sydney artists, and the many beautiful costumes are by Zeuda, the well-known Sydney costumier. The leading artists have been specially selected, and are supported by a full ballet, chorus and orchestra. Introduced into the pantomime are a number of excellent speciality turns, including dancers, musicians, trick cyclists and acrobats. Nothing has been left undone In endeavouring to make the show just the thing the amusement lover wants. The box plan is at Tevioldale’s, where seats may be reserved without extra charge.
