HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A committee meeting of the above was held on Thursday night. The president, Mr G. H. Stiles, presided over a good attendance. The Sectretary was instructed to apply to the Palmerston Society tor the loan of tube boards for the purpose of exhibiting roses at the forthcoming show. The following judges were ap pointed : —Pot plants and cut blooms, Mr Shailer; Iruit and vegetables, Mr Wighton ; dairy produce, cookery and home industries, Mr Smith ; fancy work, Mrs Knight, vice Miss Mortensen ; decorative, Mrs Hume, vice Mrs Bradfield; cottage gardens and local school gardens, Mr Shailer ; Moutoa school gardens, Mr Galland to arrange. The following stewards were appointed : —Supervising steward, Mr Stiles; pot plants, Mr D. Whibley ; cut blooms, Mrs C. Robinson and Miss Robinson ; roses, Mrs Renton; sweet peas, Misses Signal and Kent-Johnston ; fruit and vegetables, Messrs Jas. Newth and T. Henderson ; cookery and home industries, Mrs Jas. Robinson and Miss Neyion ; decorative, Miss Spelrs; fancy work, Mis Boyes and Miss Fraser; school work, Mr Jackson ; miscellaneous, Mr Kent-Johnston ; patriotic work, Mrs R. Moore and Miss M. Wanklyn ; sweets stall, Mrs Woods; tea room, Mrs Newth ; sheep guessing, Mr Jackson ; competitions, Mr Claris.
Accounts were passed for payment, and other routine business transacted.
