ENTERTAINMENTS.

FULLER’S PICTURES

Included in the current programme at the Town Hall is a very realistic and human story in a picture entitled "The Shoal Eight" An old lighthousekeeper has been asked to retire through old age. He has been in the same lighthouse for thirty years, and detest-; the new man. One night a male of a lushing vessel, in order to wreak a revenge, overpowers the watchman and puts out the light. How the old lighthouse keeper sees the danger and saves a catastrophe, and his daughter made happy, is delightfully told. Another feature of the programme is a strong detective drama, in two parts, "An Affair for the Police." How the thief was tracked and the articles returned, keep the onlookers in a state of burning ink • roughout the play. The Keystone Company provide the comic element, and other items of merit constitute a splendid programme. MONDAY AND TUESDAY. Our old friend Charlie Chaplin appears in a Keystone mirth magnet, entitled, "Getting Acquainted." This is the briskest and brightest production of farce fun that has been perpetrated by the incorrigible Charles. He is seen seated on a bench in the park with his lawful spouse. She goes to sleep, and Charles is attracted by the smart appearance of Mabel, who is also married, and whose husband has gone on an automobile ride. A Russian dancer also has an attraction for Charles. Then a policeman takes a hand. The husbands get acquainted, the wives get acquainted, and so do many others that make the laughing continuous. The supporting items are of the usual high standard, including comics, dramas and topicals.
