FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

COMMITTEE REPORTS.

The following committee reports were read and adopted at last night’s meeting of the Borough Council :

PUBLIC WORKS

Meeting held on September 29th. Present: The Mayor and Crs Coley and Henderson. The committee inspected the liver bank up Harbour street, near the pound cottage, where there is an encroachment on the road, and it was decided that the bank be repaired with fascines and planted with willows. It was resolved to recommend that the footpaths in Liddell Street and Ravens worth Place, where kerbed, be tarred before metal is spread on.

FINANCE

Meeting field on October Sth. Present: The Mayor and Crs Whibley and Simmons. An apology for absence was received from Cr Freeman. It was resolved that accounts as submitted, amounting to £382 6s nd, be certified to and recommended for payment; also that Mr R. Moore’s account be passed for payment.

LIBRARY

Meeting held on October nth. Present; The Mayor and Crs Freeman, Stevenson and Bryant. The purchase of 14 new volumes for the library was authorised.
