The above guild desire to acknowledge £2 |S from Mrs Kempster, proceeds of a guessing compel ition for a d’oyley, The correct number was 2SS and the nearest guess was 290 (Miss Kathleen Withers). The proceeds are for Hie purchasing of Chrismas comforts for the men at the front. The guild also acknowledges £2 from the employees of the Mata! and Papaklri mills ; Mr F, Robinson £s, Mr B. G. Gower £5, towards hospital ship fund; three pairs hand-knitted socks from Mrs Procter senr. ; two feather pillows from Mrs Thynne aud two pillows and old liueu from Mrs Hooker. The members of the guild forwarded £lO to the Mayoress of Wellington (Mrs Kuke) for the purchase of comforts for the men at the front.
