PROGRESS OF RECRUITING.
In the course of comment upon recruiting, the Hon. James Allen said they had enough mem for I lie ninth reinforcements and the two battalions, if those who have enrolled answered the call. “But,” he added, “we have not much time to spare in completing requirements for the tenth, about '10i)0 men. I hope registrations will go on regularly from day to day, and at an accelerated rate, too. I hope there will be no misunderstanding' about, the requirements of the Registration Bill. ft has nothing to do with registration for the ranks, and no one should hold back because of the Bill, which does not affect the question as far as we are concerned. The Bill dealing with national registration is more in the nature of a census.”
