CORRESPONDENCE.
ROLL OF HONOUR.
(To the Editor)
Sir.—l am directed by the Manawatu Patriotic Society to forward you the enclosed advertisement, which we hope you will see your way to insert in your paper in furtherance of the object which wc have in hand. We are anxious to have the fullest particulars of every person who has enlisted in this war on the side of the Allies, and the name and address of their relatives in the Wellington Military Area. We recognise how generously the newspapers have assisted in ail proper and patriotic efforts, and we are sure yon will recognise that the compiling of a complete Roll of Honour not only as a memorial to those who have served, but as a means for enabling us to reach the relatives, is a work that is of the highest value. If you can publish the advertise meat and this letter, we would esteem it as a very great favour, and we should be only too glad to acknowledge as a contribution to our Patriotic Funds, the sum which would, in an ordinary case, be payable to yon for the advertisement. If it would not he too much to ask that yon would publish it once a week lor four weeks, we think It should effect the object which we are anxious to attain. —I am, etc., J. Pkrmain, Secretary. For Manawatu Patriotic Society, Palmerston N. [We have pleasure in assisting the Society as above indicated.— Ed. H.J
