FULLER’S PICTURES
An excellent programme of pictures will be screened at the Town Hall to-night, “The Best Man,” a stirring two-part Edison drama, taking pride of place. WEDNESDAY, 22ND. “WILE THEY NEVER COME.” A' programme of exceptional merit will lie screened at the Town Hall to-morrow night lor one night only, including what is undoubtedly the best patriotic war drama yet screened in New Zealand. entitled, “Will They Never Come ?’’ This picture is under the patronage of the Governor and Lady Liverpool, the Premier and the Minister of Defence. The following is a copy of letter from the Minister of Defence (Hon. Jas. Allen) to Messrs Fuller’s Ltd. : “I have to thank you for your very kindly thought in asking me to view your motion picture entitled, ‘Will They Never Come?’ I think the exhibition of the picture ought to impress upon those whose duly it is to enlist at this time, the necessity of complying with the demands of such duty. Recruiting has been very satisfactory lately, still we have to keep the spirit going until the end of this war, and I have no doubt the lesson which is to he learned trom your picture will help in this respect. Please note that unmarried men are specially desired as recruits.” "Will They Never Come ?” is a fine incentive to recruiting and is highly thought of by the Defence authorities. Another feature of the programme is a series of authentic pictures taken during the present war, "Brilliant French Victory in the Vosges Mountains.” This is the first authentic picture of the French army in battle. If it does not make war what you thought it was, it will show you exactly what really takes place. It is the stark bitter truth, depicted with the fidelity of the camera. Other films of interest are : —“Giddy, Gay and Ticklish,” Keystone comic ; "Samoan Relief Force and Wellington Belgian Fund Procession,” interest ; "Her Winning Trick,” Vitagraph drama ; "Topical Budget” ; "The Fatal Black Bean,” drama; "Music Hath Charms,” comedy.
"FUN ON THE BRISTOL.” Brisk booking at Mrs Teviotdale’s indicates a prosperous visit for George Stevenson’s company of comedians, who appear at the Town Hall, Foxton, on Thursday evening in the musical farce, "Fun On the Bristol.” Phis play is for fun purposes only, and the endeavours of Widow O'Brien, whose pork butcher husband has left a fabulous fortune, and her two daughters to enter society have provided the author with a theme tor bringing together bright and snappy- dialogue, clever dancing, the latest song successes, sketches, etc., into one production. Frank Hawthorne appears as Widow O’Brien, and his interpretation of the part is highly spoken of by the Australian press. The company supporting includes Messrs Fred Hughes, Will Gilbert, Ernie Delevale, Arthur Sharpies, Courtney Ford,- Misses Daisy Dutton, Bertha Bush, Annie Berlin, and Ivy Davis.
