COMMITTEE REPORTS
The following committee reports were read and adopted at Monday night’s Borough Council meeting ;
CEMETERY
Meeting held on August 13th. Present: The Mayor (Mr A. Fraser) and Cr.s Thompson, Bryant and McColl. After hearing various suggestions and making a general inspection, it was decided that owing to lack ot lands, no works be recommended.
PUBLIC WORKS,
Meeting held on August 13th. Present: The Mayor (Mr A. Fraser), and Cr.s Coley, Henderson and Thompson, After viewing the drain and culvert alluded to in Mr Carter’s letter of August 7th, it was decided, on the motion ot the Mayor, seem- 1 -1 by Cr Coley, that as soon . drain is cleaned from the well to the millet the Council will supply id-inch pipes to Mr Carter to replace the present ones. The committee then inspected the.culverts at the junctions of Russell and Thynue Streets and Russell and Robinson Streets, and directed the roadmen as to the alterations requited.

Meeting held on Seotember mlh. Present: The Mayor and Cr.s Whibley, Freeman and Simmons. The accounts submitted, amounting to ,£441 23 sd, were certified to and recommended for payment. It was resolved to r am mend Mr Blackman’s account 't £2s ids for pas meat.
LIBRARY
Meeting held on September 13th. Present: The Mayor and Cr.s Bryant, Freeman and Stevenson. It was resolved to purchase 13 new volumes.
