TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.

The Town Clerk presented his monthly report at last night’s Borough Council meeting, which is as follows :

“ I have the honour to report that the road staff has been engaged as under during the past month, viz: Following grader, plastering trough windmill, filling in holes in Union, Frances, and Reeve Streets also Norblton Road ; spreading metal in Main and Union Streets also Avenue Road ; altering culvert Robinson and Russell Streets : cleaning up water tables and triangle: filling holes in footpaths in Avenue, Hall and Coley Streets ; grubbing wattles at cemetery ; grading and kerbing footpath Liddell Street. In connection with this latter work I would like the Council’s direction as to whether this footpath and that in Ravensworth Place is to be merely metalled or are both to be asphalted. I have been requested by some of the property owners in Liddell Street to ask the Council If the footpath on the eastern side could be kerbed and metalled while the men are working in this vicinity, and so give the street a finished and neat appeaiance.”

The report was adopted and it was decided that the kerbing on the east side ot Liddell Street be not proceeded with at present.
