FOXTON DISTRICT RIFLE CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above was held in the Town Hall supper room last night. The president, Mr O. O. Barber, was in the chair. The report and balance-sheet disclosed, receipts £\o os I Id, and expenditure ,£39 12s 7d, leaving a credit-balance of ,£l I 8s Bd. A vote of thanks was passed to donors of trophies for the past year. The election of officers for the ensiling year was as under ;—Patron, Mr John Stevens ; vice patrons, Messrs I*'. Robinson and F, S. Fasten ; president, Mr C. F. Johnston ; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Fraser and C. Rand ; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. J. Kent-Jobnston; committee, Messrs Dr. Maud!, IC. Ingram, J. Claris and Rev, W. Raine ; auditor, Mr K. Furrie, The president reported that Mr F. Earlier had donated two telephones to be erected on the range and that Mr IC. Ingram had promised to erect the same. Votes of thanks were accorded to Messrs F. Barber and F. Ingram. The following prizes were presented by the president;—Mr C. Morgan, with Mr W. Hamer’s trophy ; Mr IT. Hamer, with Ist prize in the handicap aggregate competition ; Mr F. Ingram, 2nd prize in same ; Mr R. Rand, 3rd prize in same ; and Mr C. Ingram, with 2nd prize in competition held on April nth, 1915. Votes of thanks were passed to the outgoing president and secretary. It was resolved to present Sergt. \V. Kirkly with a case of pipes in recognition of his services to the club as instructor, and also to present the retiring secretary with a slight token in recognition of his past services. The mhtter of selecting these presentations was left to Dr. Mandl and the secretary. It was decided to open the shooting season on Wednesday, September 22nd. Trophies were donated by Messrs Dr. Mandl, G. O. Barber, C. F. Johnston, J. Claris, and C. and F. Ingram. The following new members were elected :—Messrs W. Smith, C. A. C. Preston and J. Hanlon. Votes of thanks to the donors of promised trophies and to the chair concluded the meeting.
