FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

COMMITTEE REPORTS. The following committee reports were read and adopted at Monday night’s meeting of the Borough Council:—• GAS WORKS. Meeting held on July 23rd, 1915- Present: The Mayor (chairman), and Crs Coley, Hen* derson and McColl. Crs Henderson and McColl reported on the street lamps with the test meters as follows : Lamp at Mr Rimmer’s corner, lit May 31st, and turned off June 20th, burned 21 nights of 5 x /i hours each, consumption 700 feet, equalling 6,06 feet per hour. Lamp at Dr Mandl’s corner for same period consumed SSO feet, equalling 7.3 feet per hour. Damp at Mr Riramer’s corner, lit June 30th, and turned off July 21st, burned 22 nights of hours, consumed 700 feet, or 5.7 feet per hour. Damp at Dr Mandl’s corner for same period consumed 650 feet, or 5.3 feet per hour. FINANCE. Meeting held August Tub. Present: Crs Whibley (chairman), Freeman and Simmons. An apology for absence was received from the Mayor. Accounts and vouchers were read, and accounts amounting to ,£404 14s rod were recommended tor payment. EIBRARY. Meeting held on August 9th. Present: The Mayor and Crs Bryant and Stevenson. An apology for absence was received from Cr Freeman. It was decided to purchase thirteen new volumes.
