PLUM PUDDING FOR THE SOLDIERS.

A IJBRRAE RG3PONr.SE. Despite the short notice given by the local Indies’ Guild soliciting plum puddings for the boys in camp at Rangiotu, the response has been splendid. Fifty puddings were forwarded to the Council Chambers this morning, and the Guild is delighted. The aroma of spices, etc,, that filled the building was calculated to create hunger and desire for a slice. Fifty puddings were received besides a large and artistically Iced cake from Mr Perreau, and a family cake from Mrs Hughes. The following ladies forwarded puddings : Miss Chilejohn (three). Mrs Jackson (.two), Mrs P. Robinson (two), Mrs F. Robinson (two), Mrs Hornblow (two), Mis Renton (two), Mrs J. Ross, Mrs C. Rand, Miss McHardy, Mrs Seabury, Airs R. A. Easton, Mrs Saunders, Mrs John Robinson, Mrsjas. Robinson, Mrs Fraser, Mrs Evans, Mrs Spring, Mrs Speirs, Mrs Gower, Mrs Hunt, Mrs Kerr-Hlslop, Mrs Boyes, Mrs Greig, Mrs W. Signal, Mrs Walls, Mrs Petersen, Miss Ross, Mrs G. Rough, Mrs Burk, Mrs Gibbs, Mrs Bullard, Cook of Poplar Mill. Mrs A. Rcss, Post Office Hotel, Mrs Rlmmsr. Mrs Smith, Mis Moore, Mrs Wauklyn, Mrs C. Robinson (one each). The names of three donors o! puddings were not ascertainable at the time of going to press. The puddings were packed and forwarded to the camp by this afternoon's train.
