PLUM PUDDING DAY.
AN APPEAL TO LOCAL WOMEN. The local Ladies Guild has decided to fa'l in with the Palmerston proposal of a plum pudding day lor the men in the Rangiotn Camp on Saturday next. We don’t know how many plum puddings will be required, but five or six hundred will not give the boys more than a slice or two. Here’s a splendid chance for mothers, sisters, sweethearts and sympathisers to give the two thousand five hundred men a treat —a slice of the real home made thing ! Home-made! aye, that's the word. Plum pudding will carry onr lads thoughts back, for the time being at any rate, homewards, and will remind them that the mothers and sisters in these parts keep them in mind. Foxton womenfolk are going to get busy and pots will be boiling in all directions to morrow. The lime for this appeal is short as the plum puddings must be delivered at the Council Chambers by 11 o’clock Saturday morning, when members of the Ladies Guild will be in attendance to receive and pack them.
