BOROUGH FINANCES.

The Borough Treasurer reported as follows at Monday night’s Council meeting I have the honour to report that the following amounts have been received since last meeting and placed to credit as under : For district fund account and for cemelcry account 7/5 15s. The positions of these accounts on 30th June at the Bank of N.Z. were as follows ; District fund account, debit balance of 7,287 ns 1 id, and cemetery account credit balance ot ,£ls 2s 2d. The various ledger balances were as under : —General account £66 5 7s id, gas works loan 7/3,58 2s 3d, Council Chamber and Public Library loan 7,5' 13s qd, hospital and charitable aid £26 6s qd, imprest cash £io, Town Hall 18s, all at debit, a total of 7u,i 12 7s 511. The following accounts are in credit; Gas works T^S.V 1 3d, reserves £136 6$ 3d, roads and streets loan £SO lIS 7d, sanitation 7,43 10s nd, roads and streets loan No. 2 7>'2i 12s 2 d, cemetery £ls 2s 2d, Shannon bridge loan £j 14s Bd, contractors’ deposits 7.4, library £2 is o-.i, Wbiiokino bridge loan £ i 5s Bd, and Whirokiuo bridge additions loan 18s .-pi, a total of 7/8 3q X 7 S S.J.
