SUGAR UP.
ONE POUND PER TON.
Auckland, June 30
The Colonial Sugar Company announced to-night that as from to-morrow the price of all grades of refined sugar will be advanced one pound per ton, making it ,£2l per ton. When the war broke out the price of sugar was 2s 6d per ton, and on five occasions between then and December 22nd, advances of one pound per ton were announced. On January 25th the company made an agreement with the Government that further increases would not be made, and the term of that agreement expired to day.
