WEDDING.

SIGNAL—BARBER. A wedding in which a good deal of local interest was centred, took place at the Otaki Anglican Church on Wednesday afternoon, when Mr H. Signal, eldest son of Mr W. Signal, of Foxton, was united to Miss (Hilda) only daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Barber, of Te Horo and erstwhile Foxton residents. The ceremony was performed by the Rev G. Y. Woodward, late vicar of All Saints’ Foxton, assisted by the Rev Mr Petrie, vicar of Otaki. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in white brocaded satin with court train and the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were Misses Doris Signal (Foxton), Alexander (Hutt) and Kathleen Barber (Foxton). The two first named wore apricot satin with lace overdresses, black hats and white ostrich plumes, and Miss Kathleen Barber cream satin and ninnon overdress and black velvet hat with plumes. The bride's mother was attired in black satin, mauve and black coat; Mrs Signal, dSvy blue costume, black hat and plumes; Mrs W. E. Barber, grey costume, velvet hat with black plumes ; Mrs Barber senr., black satiu, black coat and black hat. Mr Weston Barber, brother of the bride, officiated as best man and Messrs Reg. Barber and Signal (Wanganui) groomsmen. The bridal party were entertained at afternoon tea at the residence of the bride's parents, when the usual toasts were honoured. The presents were a handsome and costly collection testifying to the popularity of the happy couple. The bride’s goiug-away dress was a brown costume and mauve hat. The bride carried a charming bouquet of fresias and the bridesmaids bouquets of violets. The bride and bridegroom left per motor car en route for the South Island, where the honeymoon is being spent, after which Mr and Mrs Signal will take up their residence in Foxton. The Herald joins with their many friends in wishing them health and happiness.
