HOCKEY.
Through some muddling on the the part of the officials of the Horowhenua Hockey Association portion of the Foxton team was yesterday put to the expense of travelling to Eevin for nothing, and had one of the team not been in Levin yesterday all the players would have gone over on a wild goose chase. For some reason, at present unknown to the Foxton players, the match was postponed, of which fact the secretary of the local Club was not advised. Mr Me Murray, on arrival in Eevin yesterday, was told there was no match and immediately rang-up Foxton, but one car with about half the team had already left. From enquiries made it appears that the decision • to postpone the matches was arrived at on Monday, but Foxton was not advised. In fairness to the Foxton players who were put to the expense of travelling to Eevin, either their expenses should be refunded or the match, Foxton v. Eevin 8., set down for decision on the local ground.
