BIRTHDAY HONOURS.
SIR F. H. D. BELL. Welunton, June 3. The Governor has been advised that the King had conferred the honour of Knight Commander of the most distinguished Order of Michael and St. George upon the Hon. F. H. D. Bell, K.C., leader of the Legislative Council, and that His Majesty had appointed Mr James Mackenzie, Undersecretary for Lands, a Companion of the Imperial Service Order. ADDITIONAL BIRTHDAY HONOURS. Grand Crosses of the Bath : General Bruce Hamilton and Lord Reding. For gallantry and devotion to duty at the Dardanelles the Distinguished Service Order has been awarded to the following New landers: Majors Hart, E. O'Neil, F. Waite. Military Crosses: New Zealanders Captain Wallingford, Sergt.-Major Porteous. Distinguished Conduct Medals : New Zealanders—Corpls. C. W. Salmon, C. W. Saunders, H. Singleton, G. Steadman, W. Imos, Privates T. Stockdill, J. W. Swann. Captain Critchely Salmonson, of .Munster Fusiliers, attached to the New Zealanders, is awarded the D.S.O. The Knights include Freyer, Superintendent of Fisheries, who participated in the introduction, of salmon trout into New Zealand.
