ENTERTAINMENTS.

HUGARD, THE MAGICIAN. On Monday, June 7th, at the Town Hall a treat is in store for Boston theatregoers. Jean Hugard supported by a specially selected company will open for a season of one night only. Pleasant recollections linger round Hugard’s last visit to Boston some two years ago. On that occasion he proved himself an entertainer and .illusionist of lbs first rank, since then Hugard has secured all new illusions and magical surprises, also several new artists have been added to the combination. Hugard’s Chinese colleague, Ching Sung Loo, has a new repertoire to present which includes many startling novelties, “The Sword Levitation,” Chung’s latest invention is a real sensation, one of his lady assistants is suspended on the points of three swords, two of the swords are removed leaving her suspended on the remaining one; she is then lowered until the sword passes completely through her body, once again she is raised, the sword removed and lo —she is suspended in mid-air without any support whatever. Supporting artists include : Miss Myra Ewington, soprano and instrumentalist, this young lady’s xylophone playing is said to be brilliant; Clivalli and his dog “sport, ’’ are jugglers and balances and have a very novel act to present; Miss Millie Clare Is a charming comedienne, and has an original manner in delivering her songs, ibices are 3s, 2s, is, and it is safe to anticipate good business for such a clever artist as Jean Hugard.
