SOCIAL AND PRESENTATION.
Members and adherents of the Presbyterian Church assembled in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening for the purpose ot entertaining and making a presentation to two of their active members, Mr ]. Buglass and Miss Mnnro, prior to their entering the matrimonial state. The Rev J, M. Thomson, M.A., presided, and the proceedings were quite unconventional. At a suitable juncture the Rev Mr Thomson asked Mr Buglass to accept, on behalf of himself and prospective bride, a handsome clock, as a token of esteem from the congregation. Reference was made by the speaker to Mr Buglass’ active connection with the church, both In administrative affairs and as choir master. He said that Mr Buglass w*s not only popular with the congregation, but he was highly esteemed by the general public. He also made appreciative reference to Miss Munro. Speaking in lighter vein, he cleverly sketched some lessons from the clock, and applied them to the matrimonial state. Mr Buglass acknowledged the gift, and upon request sang his masterpiece, “Mary.” The following contributed vocal items: —-Miss Ryand, Messrs Rev. Thomson, Aitken and Hornblow. The accompaniments were played by Misses Collins and Jenks. The refreshments were presided over by Mesdames Mind! and John Ross. The ladies desire to thank those who attended and who had previous engagements.
