CHILDREN’S BALL.
The children’s fancy dress ball, organised by the members of All Saints’ Ladies Guild, was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. It had been decided that half the net proceeds would be given to the Belgian Relief Fund, and as a result of this effort the ladies hope to hand between or to the Mayor for transmission to the proper authorities. The hall was most tastefully decorated and the ladies deserve much praise for all the arrangements. The children indulged in dancing and games and it did one good to see the amount of happiness they derived from their innocent amusement. Many parents and grown-up friends were present, and after the children had left, took the floor and dancing was kept going till the early hours of the morning. The following children won prizes Fancy dress (girls), Lylla Robinson “Maori Girl” ; (boys), Frank Proctor “Red Indian”; most original, (girl), Nita Fraser “Belgium” ; (boys) Finest Admore “Lord Nelson.” The piizes were given by Mesdaraes Mandl, C. Robinson, A. S. Fasten and Aus-tin-Jounston to whom thanks are given.
