WAR NEWS.
As from yesterday Italy is at war with Germany and Austria. In the Dardanelles a furious attack by two Turkish divisions, personally directed by the German general, von Sanders, have been repulsed near Gaba Tepe, with heavy losses. The exploits of the British submarine Ei4 in the Dardanelles operations have evoked a burst of admiration —the sinking of two gunboats, two transports, and the wrecking of a steamer, representing the results of a daring voyage into the Sea of Marmora.
