FOR THE WOUNDED.
YOUNG WOMEN’S GUILD FORMED. The meeting convened by the Mayoress (Mrs Fraser) of girls, willing to work at making hospital garments for our wounded soldiers, was held last night in the Mayor’s room. It was a great success there being 24 girls present and seven others sent in their names as workers, who were unable to attend. It was decided that the work was to be done entirely by the girls who want to make this a distinctive effort on their part. The girls guild is to meet every Tuesday evening at Mrs Fraser’s residence, Lady’s Mile, from 7 till to o’clock, commencing on this day week, by which time Mrs Fraser and Mrs Raine will have a lot ot work cut out ready for the guild to start. Miss Beryl Fraser and Miss Symes were elected joint secretaries and Miss Wanklyn treasurer.
