HOCKEY.
A general meeting of hookey players was held in the Good Templar Hall on Thursday evening, Mr Woods presiding over an attendance of about twenty. There was considerable discussion as to the advisability ot forming a subassociation, in order to do away with the inconvenience of travelling, and it was finally left to the secretary to communicate with Moutoa, Motuiti and Himatangi, so as to ascertain the number of teams likely to join. It was decided to bold a mixed seven-a-side tournament —teams to consist of 3 men and four ladies—on the opening day, Wednesday, April eSth. This is rather a novel idea and should create a great deal of interest and amusement. A committee consisting of Misses H. Cook, IS. Wanklyn and M. King and Messrs Baughen, L. C. Bryant and Burgess was appointed to deal with the matter of the opening social. All players are requested to put in an appearance at the Racecourse next Wednesday, 21st April, at 2.30 p.m., to put the ground in order. Afternoon tea will be provided by the ladies.
