The Clerk of the Court (Mr F. Woods) has supplied us with the following particulars nf the business transacted at the local Magistrate’s Court for the quarter ended March 31st, 1915 : Civil,. Three sittings were presided over by the 'vlagislrste and seven by Justices. The number of civil cases heard and determined by the Magistrate was 37. The amount sued fur was 18s cd and the amount recovered 183 tod. Four applications were heard in chambers, 28 plaints were issued, 7 distress warrants, 8 judgment summonses, 6 orders made on judgment summonses, f>7 civil processes served and S distress warrants executed. Seven persons were arrested or summoned, one was discharged for want of prosecution, one case dismissed on its merits, one fined, two orders made and two convicted and discharged. The amount of fines and fees paid in stamps was ,£2O tps. Oi.u Acre Pensions. Three old age pensions were granted, one refused and two are pending.
