RACING.

Two Foxton horses were successful in catching the judge’s eye at the Rangilikei races yesterday, Captain Macky comfortably winning the Hack Hurdles and Lady Moutoa accounted for the Raugitikei Cup. The former is owned by Mr A. Carroll, and trained by Mr A. M. Wright, and the latter is the property of Mr F. S. Easton,-and trained by Mr W. G. Trask. Lady Moutoa’s win yesterday makes the second occasion on which Mr Easton’s colours have been first past the post in the chief race at Bulls, Moutoa Girl win* ning the event last year. Moutoa Girl was sent out a very hot favourite in the Hack Hurdles, but failed to make good, the distance apparently being too far. Although there was no rain to speak of at Bulls yesterday, the weather conditions were not good, a very cold wind blowing throughout the day, and this no doubt interfered with the attendance oi the pub'ic, which was not as large as usual. The amount put through the totalisator was ,£11,559 as compared with .£12,708 for the first day last year, a decrease of £1149. ■ TO DAY’S RESUETS Clifton Handicap. Tyson 1, Simple Sam 2, Sir Moutoa 3. All started. Rangltoto Hack.—King Chiara 1. Martyress 2, Bivouce 3. Scratched: Sylvia Dale, Blue Thread. Sandon Hurdles. —Naup.ata r, The Diver 2. All started.
