The success of the sports carnival held iu Dr Wall’s property, Moutoa, yesterday, was marred by the inclement weather. Warm rain fell throughout the day, and this precluded the attendance of numbers of people from Foxton and Shannon, but despite this fact about three hundred people spent an enjoyable time. The committee’s arrangements were carefully prepared, aud the various officials carried out their duties in a praiseworthy manner. Several booths were erected, aud presided over by enterprising ladies, and good business resulted. The locality selected was an ideal sports ground, and the committee had everything in order for the successful carrying out of the programme.
