SUDDEN DEATH.

A death under somewhat sad circumstances took place at the residence of Mr Win. Ross at an early hour yesterday morning. Mrs Wilson, an old fi.ieud of the family, had come from Invercargill to spend a few days, and appeared to be in the best of health and spirits. Shortly after midnight on Thursday, deceased com menced to cough and expired before medical aid arrived. Deceased was the widow of the late Mr Thos. Wilson, a well-known and highly respected resident of Invercargill, The late Mrs Wilson, was bo years of age, and leaves a grown up .family to mourn their loss. The interment will take place at Invercargill. An inquest was held, at the residence of Mr Win, Ross this morning before Mr Alf. Fraser, coroner. The evidence pointed to the fact that deceased appeared to be in good health, and made no complaint of feeling unwell. Just after midnight on Thursday deceased commenced to couch and had difficulty in breathing, Medical aid was immediately summoned, but before the doctor arrived deceased passed away. Deceased had been under medical treatment at Invercargill. Dr Kerr--Hislop stated that the post mortem examination revealed the fact that death had been caused by acute oedema ol the lungs. The coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
