TOWN CLERK'S REPORT.

The Town Cleric presented bis monthly report at Tuesday night's Borough Council meeting as follows ; “I have the honour to report that the road staff has been engaged as under during the past mouth viz., tarring footpaths in Clyde and Wharf Streets, filling holes in Clyde, Avenue and Duncan Streets, cutting back trees in Johnston Street, putting in pipe culvert across Johnston Street, cleaning water tables and repairing crossing Hall Street. The sign boards relative to motor traffic, as authorised at last meeting, have been erected. Before anything is done to the cutting near the cemetery 1 would like the Works Committee to visit the spot and say exactly how much is to be cut back, as the job is a bigger one than it looks. The kerbing and channeling of Cook Street as authorised some months back is the next work that we are going to proceed with. ’
