FULLER’S PICTURES
There was a splendid muster at the Town Hall on Monday evening: to witness the opening programme under the new management, and judging by the many complimentary remarks and the splendid quality of the pictures Fuller’s should be assured of a fair share of support by the local picture goers. Wednesday’s change of programme promises something exceptionally interesting in a thrilling military drama entitled, '‘War’s Heart, Blood,” a Russian story of quite unusual power featuring realistic battle scenes. Ivan and' Gregoti, the two sous of an old Russian General, are rivals for the band of a peasant girl, Katjuscha. Gregoriis successful, and on the day of the wedding Ivan swears vengeance. When the father bears of the wedding be turns Gregori out of doors to live with Katjuscha and her people. The Russians declare war, ard though Ivan answers the call and goes away as a captain, Gregoti remains behind until seized by the press gang. He is captured by the enemy’s picket, who in turn are taken by the Russians, Ivan condemns Gregori to death as a spy, and just as the latter is shot by the bring party, the enemy commences an attack, in which Ivan himself is mortally wounded. Katjuscha, who has been looking lor Gregori, finds his dead body with Ivan lying alongside. In bis dying breath Ivan pleads for forgiveness, which Katjuscha refuses, and the two brothers are buried in the same grave. Other pictures ol exceptional merit are : The Latest Gaumont Graphic, topical; Life Beneath the Sea, interest; The Awakening of Barbara Dare, drama ; ‘‘Bird L' f e in Springtime, nature study ; B;i! Squares it with the Boss, comic; While Aunty Bounced, comic.
ROYAE PICTURES. The splendid war drama, "Facing the Enemy,"’ which was so enthusiastically received last night, will be repeated to night. On Wednesday night a special programme has been secured as the whole of the proceeds goes to the relief of the poor of Biitain and Belgium. The star feature is a grand and interesting drama entitled, "The Great Murdock Trial,” featuring the fascinating actress Miss Florence Turner. This picture has drawn large houses wherever shown and should no doubt attract a large Louse. The other films supporting this special star are 0! the latest and best. On Thursday night the special feature film, “The Fangs of Hate,” will be shown.
