WAR NEWS.
Concerning the German blockade, Germany has sent an amazing message to America, full of untruth and vituperation and suggesting that America should send battleships with American vessels to ensure their safety. Austria is reported to be concentrating troops near the Italian frontier. Norway has threatened to stop trade with Germany, In the eastern field ot war fighting proceeds with extreme desperation. The Germans claim the capture ot sixty-four thousand prisoners eastward of the Prussian frontierIn Bukovina the Russians are falling back, Mr Martin Donohoe reports that the Austro-Germans have been driven off in the Czeroowitz district, which is now free of the enemy.
In the western theatre the news is of continued progress for the Allies, without any outstanding events.
