ELECTION PETITIONS.
Dates have now been fixed for the trial of the petitions which have been filed with a view to securing declarations invalidating the results of the elections in the Taumarunui, Bay of Islands, Hawke’s Bay, and Northern Maori electoral districts. The petition against the return of Mr W. T. Jennings for Taumarunui will be heard at Te Kuitl at 10.30 a.m. on Monday, the Court comprising their Honours Mr Justice Cooper and Mr Justice Chapman. An Election Court, comprising the Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, and his Honour Mr Justice Edwards, will hear the petition against the return of Dr Robert McNab for the Hawke’s Bay seat on Monday. On March 3rd, the petition against the return of Tau Henare will be heard at Whangarei by their Honours Mr Justice Hosking and Mr Justice Stringer. The hearing of the petition against the return ot Mr V. H. Reed for Bay of Islands has been fixed lor March 9th, at Kaikohe, the Court in this case being their Honours Mr Justice Chapman and Mr Justice Hosking.
