THE GRIFFIN FUND.

PICTURE BENEFIT. WEDNESDAY NEXT. The Borough Council has generously decided to give the uett proceeds of next Wednesday night’s municipal picture entertainment to the Griffin Fund. A meeting of the Griffin Fund Committee was held in the Council Chamber yesterday afternoon, the Mayor presiding. The Mayor’s suggestion that the picture entertainment should take the place of a concert was unanimously endorsed. It was decided to increase the admission charges for the occasion to ts 6d circle and ts stalls. The Mayor said he felt sure the municipal picture patrons would willingly pay the extra asked, for such a deserving purpose. It was also pointed out that a number of citizens would willingly buy a ticket for the entertainment, who could not otherwise afford to contribute to the fund.
