TOWN CLERK'S REPORT.

The Town Clerk at Tuesday night’s Council meeting as follows

“I have to report that the road staff has been employed as under since last meeting, viz., cutting grasi sn cemetery, repairing trough at windmill, finishing off concrete wall in Park Street, stripping and asphalting Clyde Street, cleaning water channels in Main Street and Union Street, sifting metal in yard, filling in ruts on Moutoa road, repairing Avenue kerbiug, and asphalting footpath in Main St. The footpaths in Wharf Street require a washing over with tar and grit and this should be done at once. The following authorised works have still to be done, viz., formation of footpath Russell St. from Avenue to Robinson Street, concrete kerb, channel and footpath Cook Street from Main to Johnston Streets, -straightening cutting near cemetery, and trees cutting back in Johnston Street. These works will be taken in their turn and all put through if possible before the end of the present Council’s term of office.”
