ROYAL PICTURES
“The Tower of Death,” the star film at the Royal to-night, is a magnificently appointed drama, abounding in thrilling situations. The wonderfully daring escape from the tower is a scene that will make you hold your breath. To-morrow night a further instalment of the European War series will be screened. This will show many scenes of current interest connected with the great struggle in Europe. The programme to be shown also includes the following : “When the Night Call Came” (drama), “Bertie’s New Boots” (comic), “Battle of Gettysownbak,” “In the Days of His Youth” (drama), “His Winning Way” (comic). “Blind Man's Buff” (drama), "■:! “Prince Charlie’s Land.” Saturday night: Lucille Love (7th series). MUNICIPAL PICTURES. The programme for to-morrow night at the above pictures is as attractive as could be wished for. The star drama, “The Night Riders of Petersham,” is an excitiug play of lawlessness in the Wild West country. The other items are: —Pathe Gazette (top.), A Modern Romeo (A.K. comic), Cascades of the Pyrenees (scenic), Angel of the Gulch (drama), A Deal in Statuary (comic), Caught in Tights (Keystone comic). “HUMPTY DLIMPTV ’ PANTOMIME,
To import from Australia a pantomime comprising sixty-five people with entirely new scenery, dresses, ballets, marches and effects together with an imported dame and big speciality team is what Messrs George Stephenson and Alt. Linley are about to offer at the Coronation Hall next Saturday for positively one night only at popular prices. Such enterprise really deserves a just reward. “Humpty Dumpty r ’ the opening bill, is claimed to be full of catchy songs, ballets and marches and diverting speciality sets. The dancing alone will be an attraction, for the ladies of the ballet have been specially trained by Miss rithel Clifford. The Hairy Whaite studio is said to have excelled themselves on the scenery, especially in the transformation scene depicting, “Dreamland.” The music by Mr Harry Taylor (who also is the conductor of the orchestra) is said to contain irresistible fascinating melodies. The comedy element is in the able hands of genuinely funny comedians. A special feature of the pantomime is the March of the Allies, showing Britain, France. Japan, Russian, ■ Belgium, Australia and New Zealand in the national colours, as each nation comes on the stage the orchestra plays the National Anthem,
