SCULLING.

The Webb - Hannan sculling match for the championship of New Zealand and £2OO aside has been arranged to take place iu May. Webb is keen on meeting Hannan in order to settle the question as to who is entitled to hold the New Zealand title, Webb is confident that he can regain his form, and his friends are satisfied that if he does he will demonstrate that he is still one of the world’s best sculleis. Hannan is a young and promising sculler whom some critics believe will soon be in the top flight. If Hannan can defeat the Wanganui man he will find plenty of support for future races. Victory for Webb would doubtless mean another race with C. Towns —if the latter can be Induced to come to Wanganui —and such , a contest would probably prove as interesting as any ever rowed on the Wanganui River.
