BOWLING.

There was a large attendance of both bowlers and croquet players on the greens yesterday afternoon, including several visitors. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Petrie. Three competition games were played during the afternoon resulting as follows : Witchell Trophy. Petrie (6) 25 beat McColl (9) 24 and Ball (12) 36 beat Meyer (ii) 23. Pairs.—Ball and McColl (6) 44 beat Hawke and Rimmer (scr) id. A rink from tbe Palmerston Club yesterday afternoon succeeded in wresting the Mauson and Barr Cup from the holders (Woodville). The local rink that competed in the centre tournament last week has issued a challenge for the trophy and the match will be played at an early date.
