News of some moment comes from Washington. It is alleged that much hostile feeling has been generated in the United States Owing to the activity of the British fleet so far as it affects vessels carrying American cargoes, and, as a consequence, a vigorously worded note, has been sent to Earl Grey, demanding that the United States shall be allowed to feed Britain’s enemies, and so prolong the war indefinitely.
