ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROY AD PICTURES. Even a casual glance at the list of films to be screened at The Royal to-morrow night is sufficient to satisfy picture patrons that the programme is a really superior one. Headed with the “Gaumont Graphic,” which is always in itself an. educational treat, there follows a dramatic novelty by the reliable Edison Company, “The Black Mask,” this being the first of a series of dramatic tales of John Perriton’s strange career; then the Ambrosio Company contribute a fine interest series, “Training Italian Cavalry,” which, in view of Italy’s position in the present Continental strife, is of more than passinginterest. Those who have not heard or read of Cherry Kearton, the celebrated nature photographer, are indeed few and far between, for he is renowned lor his daring and successful exploits among wild and ferocious animals with cinematographic and plate camera alike, and his productions have astonished the protographic world. One of Cherry Kearton’s films, entitled, “Marvels of Nature,” are included in this programme, aud illustrate in a vivid manner a day in the Indian jungle with all its wild life and nature’s marvels. Besides the foregoing star item, a 2,000 ft. Vitagraph star production will be shown, which features a mine accident and rescue, and contains a story showing the sordid side of nature, and ultimately the happier theme of the dawning of a woman’s love. The programme is also replete with a Keystone comic, and a Thanhouser comic, which complete a most attractive bill-o’-fare.

MUNICIPAL PICTURES. The programme for to-morrow night promises to be of a more than usually attractive nature, as the star drama is a special feature film, “A Tragedy in the Clouds,” and a Pathe ' coloured raasterplay. The other items of the programme are : Gaumont Graphic (topical), In the Days of Slavery (drama), Pups on the Rampage (nature study), A Wild Sea and a Stormy Sunset (scenic), Mabel’s Married Life (comic). The special programme which ,has been obtained for Thursday night is one that should draw a good audience. The star, drama, “The Treasure Ship/’ is an unconventional romance of love and adventure, being an engrossing story, packed with incident, concerning the lives of those who go down to the sea in ships. The other items of the programme are : Life’s Lottery (drama), Australian Gazette (topical), The Little Sheriff (drama), One Touch of Nature (comic), He Was Bad (comic), The Great Toe Mystery (comic). In addition to the usual programme, there will be a ‘‘Topical Budget” containing many items of great interest in connection with the present war, included in which are depicted Belgian troops re-entering Gretnbergen, Belgian refugees on their way to Antwerp, 160 bridges at Lede destroyed by retreating Germans, French reservists sailing from New York, and other views equally interesting.

CANNOT GET HIS BREATH. “My little son Sydney occasionally gets so bad with croup that he cannot get Ins breath,” writes Mrs N. P. Lewis, Mile End, Adelaide, S.A. “I follow the directions on the bottle of Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy and he is quickly relieved. I never go to bed without a bottle of Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy on hand for I never know when Sydney will be attacked with croup.” For sale everywhere.—Advt.
