RECRUITS WANTED.

The Mayor convenes a meeting of citizens to be held in the Town Hall supper-room, on Tuesday evening next, at 8 o’clock, for the purpose of arousing local enthusiasm among young men and others qualified who are willing to offer themselves as recruits! to serve the Empire in the present war. In other parts of the. Dominion there has been a ready and willing ' response to the country’s call and while this district has furnished its quota there is need for more in order to maintain a regular of reinforcements for the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Every man between the ages of 20 and 40 years, and who is a, British subject is invited to volunteer his 'services. As a result of Tuesday night’s meeting, there should be a ready response to the appeal.
