CROQUET.

Considerable interest was taken iu the tournament yesterday afternoon for a prize presented by Mrs Hislop, when some very closely contested games were played. Mrs Healey was the winner with 16 points. Arrangements for the annual competitions are now complete and the matches will commence immediately. The following handicaps have been declared : Mesdames Woods, Hislop, Evans and Miss Rpss, scratch ; Mesdames Perreau, McColl, Freeman, Kellow, Whibley, Healey* Johnston and Miss Edwards, one hoop ; Mesdames Bryant, Meyer, Parkes and A. Ross, two hoops ; Mesdames Moore, Hore, Barr, Ball and Miss E. Ross, three hoops. The following are the fixtures for the first round ot the singles (handicaps as above), to be completed by November 16th : Mrs Parkes plays Mrs Moore Mrs Evans ~ Mrs Kellow Mrs Perreau ~ Mrs Barr Miss Ross „ Mrs Woods Miss Edwards ~ Miss E. Ross Mrs McColl ~ Mrs Meyer Mrs Bryant ~ Mrs Healey Mrs Johnston ~ Mrs Hislop The following is the drawing of the first round of the doubles, to be completed by Nov. 30th : Mesdames Barr and Healey play Mesdames Hislop and McColl. Mesdames Parkes and Moore play Mrs Evans and Miss Ross. Mesdames Meyer and Woods plays Mrs Perreau and Miss Edwards. Mesdames Ross and Bryant a bye.

A ladder competition has been arranged this year, the conditions of which are that any member desirous of going further up the ladder must challenge the one immediately above her.
